Trail Marker is a husband and wife team who came into wine in different ways. Drew became a winemaker after working retail and falling in love with production, while Emily studied fashion and ended up in marketing for a winery. They started by buying 1 ton of Chardonnay from Mendocino Ridge and have since expanded into working in the Santa Cruz mountains. They try to make wines of levity and elegance, which they have done here. Crunchy black and red fruit, dried leaves and fine tannin. A great example of California wine not adorned with tons of oak and high alcohol.
