Standing Stone was founded on the east side of Seneca Lake in 1991 by Marti and Tom Macinski with vineyards originally planted in 1972 by Gold Seal, renowned Finger Lakes sparkling winemakers. Standing Stone was instrumental in getting the Saperavi Grape allowable on American Wine Labels after planting cuttings from Dr. Frank's vineyards. Saperavi, native to the country of Georgia is a Teinturier grape, meaning the juice is pigmented, not just the skin. This wine is evidence of that as it sees no skin contact, all of the color is derived from the juice. Dark fruit, some texture and great freshness make this a great year round rosé, great for any occasion!
