Founded in 1890, Domaine Simon Bize is one of the few Burgundy estates that is almost synonymous with it's village. No run by Chisa Bize and her son Hugo, the estate remains at the top of the quality hierarchy, not just in Savigny but in all of Burgundy. Aux Grands Liards is a lieu-dit sitting just below the premier cru site of Les Lavieres with soils of limestone and reddish clay gravel. Wines from this site tend to be a little bigger structured and richer. Dark berry, cranberry, iris, potpourri, earl grey, refined and cohesive, this is a wine is certainly an experience.
