Pecina is one of a relative few Rioja producers still producing wine in the traditional way, which is to say long aging in neutral, American oak, open air racking and further long aging in bottle. Founded in 1992 by Pedro Pecina who had 20 years of vineyard management experience at La Rioja Alta prior to starting his own winery. This is 95% Tempranillo with a splash each of Garnacha and Graciano. Aged for 2 years in American oak and 2 years in bottle before release, this is classic Rioja. Blackberry, black raspberry, plum, cranberryand coconut with fresh cut herbs and gravel.
