Eben Sadie is one of the great visionaries and preservationists in South African wine. He started Sadie Family wines in 1999 after working in South Africa and all over the world making wines. Eben focuses on old vines and site specificity. This particular wine is from a co-planted vineyard with a western exposure that soaks up the afternoon sun, hence the name Sonvang which means 'sun catch.' The first vintage of this particular wine, it's a blend of 12 varieties from this single vineyard, this wine spends almost a year in concrete and older barrels. Dark berry fruits, white pepper, herbs and truffle.
