Montetino draws it's name from the high elevation area above the coastal areas of Abruzzo, where Bendetta and Marco farm their vines. Bendetta is an assistant winemaker at Emidio Pepe while Marco makes beer full time, this project draws on all of their experience. They rent 5 different plots where they use biodynamic practices on vines growing among plants native to the area. This wine is full of juicy black and blue fruit with a savory streak reminiscent of Syrah, but is decidedly it's own wine, distinctly from the hills of Abruzzo.
