Miguel Merino is focused around the village of Briones, with vines planted on steep slopes influenced by the Atlantic. Vines planted on a cooler, north facing slope on rocky soil are used for this wine which is aged for 2 years in oak, 30% of which is new.  Lots of oak is overlayed with red and black fruit and nice fine tannin. Wine for a ribeye.
