Founded in 2003 by Jill and Steve Matthiasson, Matthiasson Wines is a pillar of the sustainable viticulture movement in Napa Valley and all of California. They grow and work with lots of different varieties of grape, from Cabernet to Refosco, they have the classics and the esoteric. All of the fruit for this wine is from the Windmill Vineyard in the Dunnigan Hills AVA in Yolo County, east of Napa Valley. This is made up of a mélange of grapes including Grenache, Barbera, Counoise, Mourvèdre, Montepulciano and Vermentino. This blend makes a lighter rosé with plenty of freshness and herbal lift.
