For fans of Burgundy, the Marquis d'Angerville needs to introduction. The domaine was founded in 1920's when Sem d'Angerville was fed up with the corrupt practices of the negociants of the time. D'Angerville is the largest owner of Fremiet at a whopping 1.57 hectare. Fremiet is in the north of Volnay, bordering Pommard and because of this terroir, it tends to bring a good deal of structure to the wines. With ripe, bright red fruit, oyster shell, silky tannin, and a peppery finish, this is a special wine.
