Located on the eastern most island in the Canary Archipelago, Lanzarote, Los Bermejos is owned and operated by winemaker Ignacio Valdera. Lanzarote presents a unique challenge for growing vines as a volcanic eruption nearly 300 years ago covered the island in between 3 to 5 meters of ash. To plant vines, the growers have to dig down through the ash to the soil below for the vines to survive, making a landscape that looks like the surface of the moon. This wine is made from Diego, a grape that is Endemic to Lanzarote. White flowers, citrus and tropical fruit, this is a wine that will take you to the islands!
