Marcel Lapierre took over his father's estate in 1973 and in 1981, cementing the estate in the so-called 'Gang of Four,' along with Foillard, Breton and Thevenet as vignerons eschewing the use of chemicals in the vineyard. Marcel passed away at the end of harvest in 2010, leaving the estate to his son Mathieu and daughter Camille who are pushing the estate forward. Labeled as Vin de France, Raisins Gaulois comes mostly from the Morgon cru. The reason for this is that the yields are intentionally higher than allowed under Morgon cru rules to achieve the lighter, fresher style that is Raisins Gaulois.
