Marcel Lapierre took over his father's estate in 1973 and in 1981, cementing the estate in the so-called 'Gang of Four,' along with Foillard, Breton and Thevenet as vignerons eschewing the use of chemicals in the vineyard. Marcel passed away at the end of harvest in 2010, leaving the estate to his son Mathieu and daughter Camille who are pushing the estate forward. Leaving the grapes to ripen on the vine as long as possible, they use traditional fermentation methods and only use older oak in their wines. Juicy, bright and endlessly drinkable, this is quintessential Beaujolais.
