The Stamp family of Lakewood Vineyards has been making wine in the Finger Lakes for nearly 40 years at their winery on the southwest side of Seneca Lake. The 2020 vintage presented one of the best growing seasons in a generation. Warm and sunny, there was ample opportunity for fully ripening grapes, particularly red grapes like Cabernet Franc. Lakewood took this opportunity to make a Reserve wine from their harvest of Cab Franc. From the Miles vineyard, this wine spent 24 months in French Oak before bottling. Classic juicy black cherry, raspberry, with dried herbs and flowers, this is the type of wine the reserve designation was meant for!
