Originally founded in 1887 in Kansas City, the distillery was restarted in 2014 by the great great great grandson of Jacob Rieger, the founder. With the help of bartenders and legendary distiller's they've brought back the spirit of the original distillery with a modern twist. Adding Sherry to whiskey used to be fairly common practice, J. Rieger is the first to bring it back. This is a blend of Bourbon, Corn Whiskey and Rye all aged at least 4 years with the addition of a small amount of 15 year old Oloroso Sherry.
