Hillick & Hobbs is the Finger Lakes label of famed winemaker Paul Hobbs. In 2013, Hobbs purchased a plot of land on a steep slope on the southeast side of Seneca Lake. Clearing the land, planting the vines and waiting for them to bear fruit suitable for quality wine took nearly a decade, but they were worth the wait. Winemaker Lynne Fahy has taken these wines to another level with an ethereal quality that is paired with a concentration of fruit that is often found in the Mosel. This wine is from a the Lower Terrace parcel within their vineyard. As they continue to hone in their growing practices and make wine, it's going to be very interesting to see their single parcel wines take on a life of their own.
