Hermann J. Wiemer was a pioneer in growing Vinifera grapes in the Finger Lakes. Hermann is no longer involved, but the winery today continues his pioneering ways as the only winery in the Finger Lakes to have Biodynamic certification for some of their vineyards. This wine hails from their Magdalena Vineyard, about 10 miles north of the winery and closer to the lake, allowing for longer ripening period where the Cabernet Franc develops ripe fruit, spice and great structure, a classic example of Cabernet Franc, not just from the Finger Lakes.
