Hermann J. Wiemer was a pioneer in growing Vinifera grapes in the Finger Lakes. Hermann is no longer involved, but the winery today continues his pioneering ways as the only winery in the Finger Lakes to have Biodynamic certification for some of their vineyards. This Blaufrankisch is grown in Wiemer's Magdalena Vineyard, about 10 miles north of the Winery on the West side of Seneca Lake. Pretty dark flowers, great spice and red cherries, all hallmarks of classic Blaufrankisch make this wine one of the best examples in the Finger Lakes.
