Cascina Penna-Currado is one of the most exciting new labels in the Piedmont if not all of Italy.  Luca Currado and his wife Elena Penna started Penna-Currado after the sale of Luca's family winery, Vietti. They're Barolo's will be out in a few years, but in the meantime, we have their Nebbiolo. From a cascading vineyard that extends across the hill below the church of San Sebastiano above the only natural lake in the Langhe. Dark fruit is complemented by crushed flowers, dried herbs and iron.  A preview of their Barolo's coming in the next couple of years!
