Now in it's third generation, Alambique Serrano was born in the highlands of Oaxaca, when the founder learned to distill Aguardiente on a coffee plantation, soon striking out on his own. Now run by his son and 4 grandsons, they maintain the traditional methods of sugar cane distillation in Mexico. This expression is a 5 cask blend of pot still and Krassel still rums made with Java sugarcane grown at over 3000 feet of elevation. New French and Hungarian oak barrels are blended with ex red wine, ex bourbon and ex rum barrels to create an endlessly complex rum. Bourbon, brandy, orchard fruit, caramel, spices and roasted leather.
