General Gorostieta starts with Blue Weber agave grown high in Los Altos, Jalisco, where the plants mature for six to seven years before harvest. The agave is slow-cooked in traditional stone ovens, and the Reposado is aged in French oak. Cooked agave takes center stage, layered with citrus, caramel, black pepper, spearmint and gentle oak. Rich but still lively, it’s a tequila made for sipping slowly, preferably with nowhere else to be.
