Mas de Valériole sits just south of the French city of Arles which is where the Rhone forks and heads into the Mediterranean. The Michels purchased this 15th century estate in the 1950's and now have 32 of the 45 hectares it encompasses planted to grapes. This rosé is made from 70% Caladoc (crossing of Grenache and Malbec), Merlot and Marselan (crossing of Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. It doesn't spend any time on the skins, giving it a nice light color. Despite that, there's still plenty of wine. Lot's of white, pink and red fruit and flowers with some melon and gravelly mineral for fun. Our value rosé of the summer.
