The Bea family has been in the hills of Montefalco, Umbria since at least the 1500's. Now run by Paolo's son, Giampiero, the estate is focused on farming and winemaking using as little intervention as possible while making incredibly expressive wines. This wine is made up of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Sagrantino and 15% Montepulciano, all from the same 50 year old vineyard. The grapes are on their skins for 30 days before spending 3 years in stainless steel before release. Black cherries, clove, allspice, chocolate and mint.
