Islay smoke meets sherry richness. Independent bottler Murray McDavid takes single malt from Caol Ila on the island of Islay and gives it a finish in Pedro Ximénez Sherry cask. This 9-year-old single-cask release was distilled in 2014, bottled in 2023 at a bold 56.3% ABV, with only 302 bottles produced worldwide. Caol Ila’s signature peat, floral character and peppery spice meet the darker, sweeter influence of PX Sherry for a Scotch that’s smoky, powerful and richly layered. Rare, full-throttle and anything but ordinary, this is one for the Islay lover looking to wander beyond the standard bottlings.
